Climbing Holds
Climbing holds designed between 2006-2011 for Spilit-climbing holds and walls manufacturer.
The entire process of making climbing holds is slow, tiring, time consuming and fragile. As any art it combines frustrations with triumphs. The prototype is hand carved in material of choice and then prepared for a molding process. Before the mold can be made a prototype surface gets an adequate texture. The reverse reusable silicone form allows casting multiple times the same holds in resin. The process of designing climbing holds begins with finding inspiration and gathering information from customers. In Spilit we have designed and manufactured every type of climbing holds in the industry, for professional climbers as well as for children. To expand the commercial offer I hand sculpted a wide range of holds to give a grip possibility like any rock type: jugs, pinch, pockets, slopes etc.
