"Ugne" (2021) is a study on the use of neural style transfer techniques iteratively with the artist-in-the loop during the post-processing of photographs. In Beksińskian sense [1], I am interested in exploring my own visual latent space, and expressing it through these dreamy "imagescapes", an internal visual process for soundscapes with my multiple that I found analogous to layered drones editing iterations for layering colors and textures on the work.

[1] Zdzisław Beksiński: “I wish to paint in such a manner as if I were photographing dreams.”
Petteri Teikari

Petteri Teikari (b. 1981 Finland) is an engineer / neuroscientist / visual artist based in London. He has a M.Sc. degree in electrical and illumination engineering from Aalto University, and a PhD on visual neuroscience from University of Lyon. He is interested in augmenting his photographic work with AI-based techniques such as neural style transfer and generative techniques with the artist-in-the-loop rather than using pure AI art generation. Currently he is working at University College of London (UK) analyzing brain images as a Senior Research Fellow.
