Playing with the word 'Dissect', I thought about how I could make the typeface look anatomical and like it was living. I decided to work with veins, because I found that they were one of the simplest ways of producing this effect and they also look really aesthetically pleasing.
I created each and every letterform by hand using the pen tool on Illustrator, one by one. The process was extremely time consuming, but completely worth it.
The typeface was based on Gill Sans uppercase typeface.
The design was then printed onto an A1 piece of paper, in a shade of Magenta that was close to the colour of blood.
