Film poster design

I've always been an avid film watcher and having recently discovered the work of graphic designer Ollie Moss and his superb take on classic film poster design, I decided to put together a few alternative examples myself.

Most film posters are formulaic, relying heavily on promoting the latest hollywood stars to capture big box office figures. But what if they could engage with an audience in a more creative, intelligent way? Perhaps they could define that one unmistakable, unique scene or succinnctly capture the essence of the film's plot?

These first few examples are my interpretation of how each particular film engaged with me and what I felt was the unique, defining celluloid moment. I also think a good film poster should be intruiging, what would convince me to return if I was walking through the foyer of a cinema contemplating my next movie choice? And that aside, it's also a great way for me to combine two great passions in my life - films and graphic design.
