The idea of using an indegenous material like Bamboo as the main construction material for a low cost houses was been in my sketch book for years now. Growing up in a community that uses this versitile material for temporary and cheap structures, I believe that it have a better application to it . Few things that's most people holding up using this if due to its reaction when being subjected to wheather as it tends to deteriorate both structurally and aesthetically. In conuntries like China, its being widely respected as a reliable scafolding material due to its strength and flexibility, not to mention it comes way too cheap compare to metal and solid wood which conventionally used.

I decided to test this in a project which usually demands for low cost direct cost. Using bamboo for all supersrtuctures and other structural members as to beams, columns and roofing, it surpricingly creates a very homey and resortish image. My design objective here to use as much indigenous materials as much as possible as our country is abundant of.  Its a very rough sketch which need more polishing along the way. I believe sometimes when all thing wont work as to satisfy clients demand for quality for a low price, one needs to go back to the basics. I do admit I never found a product that could enhance the property of bamboo to fight weather and making it last longer that usual but hopefully with the technology nowadays, this problems can be solve.
