Polaroid Memories

The click of the shutter. The whirring noise. The blank film spitting from the front of the camera. Standing with friends, passersby and unknown strangers, we were all mesmerized as the blank white piece of paper, as if by some sorcerers spell, turned into that photo, that memory, that treasure to someone heretofore unknown to us. We became instant friends with an instant gift. A memory that, although faded with time, left in a shoebox for years on end, funky in color, is dug out by us, or our children and grandchildren after we are but a memory, recalls the day we held that odd shaped  little box to our eye and started the magic in motion once again.
