URBAN FANTASY
In recent years I have lived on a tropical island surrounded by the nature. I took a break from this and went back to the city life. After a while I realized that I was heavily influenced by the urban life. I found myself in a position where my mind questioning the reality i live in: Will the human journey, which resulted in global warming after the industrial revolution, end with self destruction? Could extinction and creation exist at the same time? Will nature recreate/reassert itself with or without us? .

In this phase of questioning images started to spin in my head. I started exploring more and more how nature actually can recreate/reassert itself and this journey took me to an ancient Indian God: Nataraja.

This series, which examines reality from a surrealist perspective, is inspired by the symbolism of Nataraja in Indian mythology. Nataraja is a fire dancer God who has found presence as a form of Shiva (The Destroyer). Nataraja's fire dance represents the simultaneous process of destruction and recreation. Nataraja is the destroyer of the Ego, the highest illusion. Based on the Nataraja analogy; when the illusion burns out, what remains is truth itself.
