Designed a logo for the Alpha Education Community Initiative Board of Directors. I was approached by my friend and mentor, Jason Dorsette to work on this project for the board. Out of the other designers submissions, my design work was selected.

The Alpha Community Education Initiative is a non-profit organization founded by the Western Region of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc with the vision to create opportunities for educational resources, policies and practices to improve the quality of life in our communities. While ACEI was originally rooted within Alpha and plans to work with Alpha as an integral partner, the organization’s mission and focus extend beyond the scope of the fraternity. http://www.alphawest.org

For the process, I did more research and asked questions about what the initiative was about. Realizing that three common concepts came up: community, education and mentorship - I began to work on mocking up iterations of the logo that speaks to the mission of the initiative and presents them in a meaningful way. First photo was the finalized version.
