Coastal landscapes and the sea

Island Föhr, Südstrand
Coastal landscapes
Sometimes people ask the question: "Are you mountains or sea?". Well, I am both! I not only like to travel to the mountains. I love to be at the North Sea or the Baltic Sea. I am very fond of the island of Föhr. And in fact my way often leads me to relatives in Flensburg at the Danish border. All in all, the coasts and the islands are a breathtaking landscape that I just have to photograph again and again!

In Kappeln on the Schlei you can take a paddle steamer for a nice round trip. Among other things, you come to the lighthouse Schleimünde. Romanticism at the sea.

Keep it simple - also this picture shows the coast on the Schlei / minimalism also has something!
In Flensburg I always like to drive the area with the photo backpack and enjoy the time in the early morning or late evening outside in the air. The next photos were taken during a morning walk on the beach in Solitüde. The morning sun brings great light into the Flensburg Fjord.

Being at the sea means relaxation! In fact, I am also so overwhelmed by the fresh air every time that I am dog tired in the evening...

Lighthouses always characterize the coastal landscape as colorful, imposing structures. They exert a certain fascination and are a favorite photo motif for me. In the lighthouse of Falshöft you can even get married.
Windmill on the island of Föhr
"Wind is when the sheep have no curls!" - the north always stands for a stiff breeze. Consequently, many windmills have settled here. This somewhat older one stands on the island of Föhr and is very photogenic among the corn fields.

Sunset on the island of Föhr
The island of Föhr is also affectionately called the "Caribbean of the North Sea". There's something to that! An island has the advantage that you can always find a beach at sunrise or sunset, you just have to go to the right side.

Flensburg is located directly on the Danish border and on the Baltic Sea. The Flensburg Fjord leads from the harbor out to sea. Urban motifs, a harbor, great scenery, beaches, sea - it's all there!
Harbor of Flensburg
You don't always have to photograph far into the distance. A walk along the harbor in Flensburg makes you want to capture small maritime details.

Heligoland is a high sea island in the German Bight. It is located about 50km from the mainland. The crossing was very exhausting in the rough sea that day. The island offers so much landscape and nature - very spectacular!

Holnis is a nature reserve on the Flensburg Fjord. A morning walk with a camera is just the thing here.

Büsum is a small town on the North Sea coast in Schleswig-Holstein. The following two photos show the lighthouse and the harbor of Büsum.

Sankt-Peter-Ording is a very famous resort on the North Sea. Its wide sandy beach may be driven on by car. Here are the surfers, water sports enthusiasts and there is a special lifestyle.
