Throughout it’s history, Black Bear has produced a wide variety of equipment primarily aimed at the camping and recreational markets. The company was founded in 1936 located in Waterville, Maine. It’s founder Jimmy “Bear” Black frequented the camp grounds and woods with friends and family. During that time, a standardized place where customers could go to buy camping equipment was scarce and hard to find. Most people needed to buy supplies from many different locations. This all changed when Jimmy created the first Black Bear Camping Co in Waterville. In the past, the company produced a range of cooking stoves and domestic irons. Today, Black Bear manufactures modern camp stoves, sleeping bags, coolers, generators, cookware, apparel, dried foods, and outdoor equipment for entertainment among other things for all your camping needs. Black bear has withstood time and competition not only because of their camping equipment but because they believe in family, and the highest quality customer service.
