David is a minor league player for the Industriales of Havana. They are, arguably, the best team in the Cuban Leagues and David was their incoming home-run king. I was able to film the team while the season was winding down and was ready to excited to finish the film when I came back for the next. Upon my return I found that David had left Cuba and had made his way to Miami through Mexico. He was waiting to play winterball in the Dominican Republic and living with other Cuban ballplayers. What started as a small film about the differences in wages and prestige between the Cuban and Major leagues had become something larger.
