I came across the ambigrams a couple of years ago and really enjoyed the idea of a text, that could be rotated 180 degrees and still reads the same (of occasionally even a diferent) word.

My aproach was, however, a bit different - rather than trying to create a functional design for a word (which would have been a lot more challenging), I wanted to find a suitable word.

I chose the word "mellow" because it seemed to be a perfect ambigram already thanks to the "m" which would naturally turn into "w" after being rotated. As for the design, I needed to come up with a style, that would allow me to add shapes. This was essential especially in the case of "e/o" - to create a difference between these letters when rotated. Not to affect the legibility of the "o" and at the same time it had to create an "e". Therefore, I decided to make the text ornamental; with little leaves in the middle of the letter "o".

It is still a hand-drawn illustration, I did not fixed it on the computer so there are plenty of mistakes and imperfections.
After drawing the three letters, I scan the image and finished the word.

Thank you!
