Children’s furniture X is the concept introduced by Bosnian designers Mustafa Cohadzic and Sanjin Halilovic, with which they won on competition Quercus 2013.

The concept of folding furniture for children is based on the simple X construction, which is derived from the basic square and rectangle forms, by diagonal cut in the middle. By further development, the objects such as chairs and shelves for children are derived, with the potential of creating a whole collection of children furniture (bunk beds, desks, or toy boxes…) Since the concept is recessionary, the whole idea of children’s furniture X is simple, in terms of construction, easy installation and transport. The aim is that the whole product is easy doable in production, therefore to have affordable prices. The plan is that the final product is made of laminated beech veneer, thickness 12cm. X construction is highlighted by colors which contrast the texture of wood. This emphasizes construction and gives dynamic graphics and aesthetic value to the product. The final product can also be flat pack.
