CONCEPT
We were very challenged by the competition brief to achieve the capacity to acquire a viral character within the urban tissue and sprawl into nearby empty lots as well as to rethink the domus commune, a structure consisting of smaller units with shared facilities. As building is a deliberate action we imagined our virus to be injected in our city body in the form of a vaccine. The result is: adaptation, memory, identification, recognition, co-existence <<Immunity. For the plot no. 34, we are creating 18 rooms with bathrooms that are shared by every two adjacent rooms. We prefer common, shared spaces like kitchen, dining and sitting areas to occupy as much space as possible. The basement is used for storage space and bicycle parking.
