Philosophy of rhythms in the broken edges of kintsugi
DIADANS is a residential complex in the heart of Pechersk, consisting of two stylish towers united by a stylobate.
The focus of DIADANS is the rhythm of life of every resident.
On the basis of a ready-made concept for the improvement of the complex, ZIKZAK architects continued the idea, as if the outer space rolled into the building in a wave.
OBJECTIVE
Support the concept of the philosophy of the rhythms of a status residential complex with a comfortable design of the internal public space.
CONCEPT
A single style of exterior and interior solutions + visible lines of kintsugi materializes the philosophy of rhythms.
IMPLEMENTATION
The dynamic atmosphere of the open space of the complex continues all the way for residents and guests – from the public area of the courtyard and the lobby to the border of private life.
Materialization – metal frames with fiber cement plates and finishing, complemented by porcelain stoneware, rose gold-colored metal, mirrors and light panels.
Multi-vector lines resemble sharp edges of a diamond, mineral, glacier:
- create a life-affirming dynamism and a positive mood;
- set an inspiring rhythm;
- direct the flow of visitors.
Living plants repeat landscape design elements in color and shape, connect indoor and outdoor spaces. The lobby is located next to panoramic windows and a floating Japanese garden
IMPLEMENTATION
The golden stitches of the kintsugi are played out many times:
- the shape of triangular slabs, deliberately emphasized gaps and joints visually continue the broken structure of the courtyard of the complex;
- thin light slots of warm linear illumination of the corridors enliven the space ;
- the perforated pattern breaks the linearity of walls, ceiling panels and staircase rails.

The ZIKZAK team disguised the structural elements of the stylobate and the building under the broken sculptural compositions. Intricate projections and columns have turned into effective interior solutions:
- in the lobby, the reception desk flows into an overhanging ice wave;
- a 45º mirror covering the ledge of the supporting structure directs those entering the building to the stairs and elevators;
- metal frames create transparent trompe l’oeil boxes for floor protrusions and floating compositions with living trees and flowers.

DETAILS
Each of the DIADANS towers is 31 floors high. According to fire safety standards, exclusively non-combustible materials are used in all lobbies, halls and corridors: large-format porcelain stoneware with different surface textures, metal panels, fiber cement slabs.
