1. Tell me a bit about yourself, where were you born, where do you live now. How did you become interested in photography?

I am a journalist, writer and translator from Baku currently based in Tiflis. Whole my life is hanging out with words and text, so I used to be pretty far from visual art (actually I am still far from it). Meaning I like and appreciate visual art as spectators but for a long time I didn’t even try to take photos myself because it isn’t my area. And now photography for me it’s kinda illustration for text (even for unwritten one).

2. Where do you find inspiration? Do you have any favourite music/photographers?

If you mean inspiration for photography, it’s usually improvisation. When something attracts my attention. But speaking about inspiration in general…. Books, people, love, life….) I like many photographers, both famous professionals and amateurs as long as their photos tell stories.

3. Where is your most favourite place to go photograph?

Easier to say which kind of place I don’t like. Too modern and too miserable. Because the first ones seem uninteresting to me and the second ones…. I am against looking for beauty in misery. Such kinds of photos are proper for reporting, for photojournalism when it is a way to demonstrate some problem. Also usually I don’t photograph nature (just because I can’t) except for the sea.

4. When you take pictures, do you usually have a concept in mind of what you want to shoot?

No, usually I do not. Unless I need a photo for a specific text.
5. What happens when you go out with your camera? What is your process?

I don’t have a camera, only a smartphone) So I just walk and look around.
