Rejuvenate was a project which focused on the waste generated by hotels. We were to research various hotels within the IHG brand, and create a product which was made using the waste from the hotels; this included materials such as cardboard, plastic, glass, newspaper etc..

My project focused on the business/work market. I carried out alot of research which suggested people travelling on business often carried photographs with them to stick to the walls in the hotel; this would make the hotel room feel more like home; and so this was the starting point for my project...
The frames were created using cardboard- moulded on old photo frames i found in a charity shop close by to the hotel. The frame could be used however the customer wants, and could subsequently be taken home, as a reminder of the stay. Being able to display family photographs makes the room feel more personal to the customer.
Each frame is handmade, using flour as the binding agent. A message appears on the inside of one of the frames in order to notify the customer that they are for their use; the message reads 'I was a box, now im a frame, handmade for your memories, take me home'
