The project is built around the advertising video for a personal journal startup, plus-minus-null. We created a realistic 3D model with animation and added a catchy sound design.
The main goal was to demonstrate the unique structure of the journal and to emphasize its content. We placed the model in a dark background, reduced all the extra noise from the image while focusing on what matters the most.
The main task was to create a model that would look and move like a real journal and could be applicable for further use in various marketing materials. To do so, we processed every detail of the model and worked a lot on its colours, texture and paper structure.
The physics of journal opening and page-turning were also among primary concerns. The main challenge was to keep both front and back covers hard while holding the correct thickness of pages during the animation. To resolve this issue, we rigged the journal model with a specific bone structure, which allowed us to play around with all the model movements and keep them realistic.
