One of the saddest realities in which we are now submerged, the energy problem. Now the problem is that most of our global economy works by burning fossil fuels, releasing carbon: the factories that make all our stuff, ships and trucks that carry them around the world, our cars and houses and appliances, rather almost everything. The idea was to create a web page, as an ‘introduction’ to new software to reduce energy use in SCAD dorms. It’s a campaign with a focus on SCAD students. In this web page, students can see how much energy they can save with the use of the most common home appliances and also they can see how they can participate in the competition. This campaign promotes energy saving through a competition between different dorms. The dorm which wins have benefits to enjoy; in other words, students who save more energy can accumulate points that later they can exchange to print work, for books and more. It all depends on how much energy your dorm saves, because more saving is the same as more points and benefits. The objective is to engage students in the need to save energy. Read Less

One of the saddest realities in which we are now submerged is that of the energy problem. Now the problem is that most of our global economies works, by burning fossil fuels, which in turn releases carbon into our atmosphere: the factories that make all our stuff, ships and trucks that carry them around the world, our cars and houses and appliances, almost everything. The idea for this project was to create a web page as an ‘introduction’ to new software designed to reduce energy use in SCAD dorms. It’s a campaign with a focus on SCAD students.

This campaign promotes energy saving through a competition between different dorms. The dorm which wins has benefits to enjoy; in other words, students who save more energy can accumulate points that later they can exchange to print work, buy books and more. It all depends on how much energy each dorm saves, because more saving is the same as more points and benefits. The objective is to engage students in the need to save energy.
