The government provides free Grower kits to schools who in return distribute them to the students for them to take home. The Grower kit is designed for children ages 4-8 and consists of a planter, soil, seeds and a few food recipes. The purpose is to encourage parents and children to spend healthy time together while learning about healthy eating habits. Both the children and parents can explore and learn the benefits of growing their own food in their small backyard or even a balcony. The children will learn about life while watching the seed grow, become a plant and begin to produce tomatoes. It initiates a dialogue between parents and children. Inside the box, they will find a planter waiting to be constructed. From this moment the child’s excitement begins. The box can be personalized with paint or markers. Then the child with the help of his parents can plant the vegetable. This kit will provide some simple recipes to encourage parents to prepare healthier meals using homegrown vegetables. Read Less
