TIPPING POINT

Animation and illustrations for De / The Correspondent. The article, in which our work was showcased, was actually about the self-serving bias that people have. It's a fancy late 60s term for a psychological phenomenon. In case that doesn't make any sense: it actually means that successful people tend to attribute their success to their own efforts. On the flipside, underachievers generally blame circumstances instead.

However, Roger Schmidt; the guy who's covered in the article, is an exception to this rule. He acknowledges that he owes his unexpected success to luck and coincidence. And that is precisely what makes him such a good coach. The tipping point between success and failure is the main inspiration for these images.
