YOGA HOUSE

YOGA HOUSE
The idea of creating YOGA house on the hill captivated us from the very beginning of the project as it is a great possibility to realize some of our ideas which were synthesized for some time. We decided to start with separating main factors which have direct influence on the shape and the volume of the building: integration into surrounding, low surface and environmental impact, ecological and sustainable materials, cost-efficient construction, simplicity and functionalism. We want the house to look very natural in the environment. We started with a very simple shape then elevated it from the ground and placed it on columns to reduce affection on the surface and create some space under the building for outdoor sessions. The next step was splitting our box with a few different blocks, which makes it modular with possibility to add extra blocks in future. These blocks are extruded between trees, so it reminds a tree house. From some angles it even looks like it levitates in between pine trees. The other task was to create different zones and spaces for different activities and types of classes.
There are few different zones in the house: an outdoor space, a space for individual sessions, a space for pair sessions and a space for group sessions. Also as a support space there are a lounge zone, shower and toilet zone and a kitchen. The interior of the yoga house is very simple and minimalistic, so it’s very easy to mediate when there is nothing to distort and minds just float through the clean lines of the space. We believe that there is always something more behind visual simplicity. Big windows with incredible views allow visitors to feel themselves as an organic whole with nature regardless of activities.
