Tayeb Salih ( 12 July 1929 _ 18 February 2009 ) was one of Sudan's greatest authors of the twentieth century. Born in Karmakol, near the village of Al Dabbah in the Northern Province of Sudan, he graduated from University of Khartoum with a Bachelor of Science before leaving for the University of London in England.
