This project was part of the Experience Prototyping Module.
Besides the design process it taught different prototyping techniques and how to put them to best use. The overall goal was to demonstrate understanding of the design process focusing on the creation of prototypes while showing the overall process towards a finished prototype.

The Brief was to design a decorative tile, prototype it and then use vacuum forming to create a mould from which the final tile can be cast as a well finished model.
After initial design explorations a chosen design was prototyped. This process started by glueing pieces of cardboard onto a wooden tile to create a to scale model/positive of the tile.
The next step was to create the negative mould through vacuum forming.
These moulds were then used to cast plaster versions of the tiles which were painted and placed next together to reveal and explore a variety of patterns the tiles could form.
