Pett Level
I traveled to Pett Level Beach on the 24th February to see what the location was like and find any specific parts that I would want to use in my shoot here.
It blew my expectations out of the water, it was extremely diverse with sand parts that you could walk quite far out when the tide was out, there were loads of boulders that you could climb on and was actually easier to use them to walk on rather than the pebbles surrounding them.
The cliff was very dramatic as a possible backdrop with one part having a ledge that even had a step in it from years of people climbing on to it.
I took a walk along the beach towards the cliff and beyond just to see how far you could get along it; I wasn't totally sure on the tide times so after a certain point I didn't want to venture further as I was worried I'd get stuck but it did continue for a very long way and I have a feeling you could end up back in Hastings if you followed the coast line.
The weather and tide times are going to be my biggest issues at this location as the weather can change so quickly because it's on the coast even just walking back the weather started to brighten up and the clouds started to disappear completely transforming the place, even the tide had gone further out than when I had arrived; at this point it had been about 40/45 mins so it can change so quickly.

I'm planning on going back there at sunset to see what the tide is like after I've spent the day in the Country Park which is nearby on the cliff scouting other locations and how easy / quick it is to walk there.
I saw people doing what I think was a small photoshoot on the beach, though I don't know if they had permission or if you have to get that to be able to do a shoot, I'm gonna research into this and make contact with the council just to save my own back incase anything does happen on the day of the shoot even though I think this would be very slim.

Also will need to think about the busyness of the beach when I arrived it was pretty much empty apart from a few dog walkers, however with lockdown starting to be lifted it might get busier.
