I wanted to link two stories in a single illustration "streak".

Two runaways, one escaping from a nuclear accident (1986) and one from the invasion of soldiers in '45, have both haunted me for so long.

On the cover, on the outside, two girls are escaping from the Chernobyl disaster and the violence of the father of one of them, searching for freedom. We found the other parallel story inside the flaps: the grandmother, a child at the time, who was fleeing nazi persecution in search of freedom too. The train will bring all them back together.
