NEW ALPHABET - MODULAR TYPEFACE

“Hexapode” is a modular typeface and was designed by my team partner Denny Eilert and me as part of the experimental FH Aachen typography course in the summer semester of 2020.
The project’s topic was “New Alphabet” and in addition a loose cooperation with the illustration course “New Image”. According to this, work was carried out in
teams of four students each, who were responsible for determining how close the co-operation should be. In my team the decision was made to implement the
project independently, but still on a common, abstract basis of the topic “insects”.
The typographic experiments were originally intended to be transferred back to the technique of wood printing, which unfortunately was not possible due to the Corona crisis.
The AR feature is accessible via the “Artivive” app.
