Itoya was a Nigerian immigrant in Poland. He was killed (23 May 2010) in a police raid on a flea market in Warsaw, the capital. He was the father of three young children and the husband of a Polish woman. It was an action against people who sold "non-original" sports shoes. Today, there is a national stadium.
