These are a few illustrations I made for a scientific publication on the effects of Offshore Wind Farms (OWFs) on the marine ecosystem. These schematic illustrations help visually communicate complex ideas, facts and relationships in a concise manner.
OWFs are expanding globally and the submerged parts of their structures act as artificial reefs, providing new habitats and likely affecting fisheries resources. Degraer et al. (2020, Oceanography) examined the complex structural and functional effects of these artificial reefs on the species and habitats of the marine ecosystem.
