As a photographer, I feel responsible for normalizing certain things in our society. Photographers are important producers of images and through images we send a message. By photographing my friend Isabelle with her girlfriend Heloisa, I wanted to show how normal and loving a relationship between two women can be. Patriarchy constantly tries to convince us that not only do we need a man in order to feel complete, but also that love between two women can only exist when it's meant for male appreciation. I wanted to contradict that mystique and show that two women together sharing their unconditional love for each other is enough.
