Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Concept Road Bike


Main Concept


The bike is constructed and put together with custom made carbon fiber tubes and 3D-printed titanium lugs. Each tube is winded with strands of carbon fiber using a filament winder, with different diameters, layup, thicknesses, patterns, which is bonded together using epoxy resin.

With additive manufacturing (3D printing), we can design a part with specific properties, with more flexibility in the design process, removing the barrier of restrained tube sizes which could only deliver certain ride qualities in the bike like in traditional tube welding.

While carbon fiber can be light and stiff, titanium can deliver a smooth and supple ride feel to the bike, achieving the perfect balance between performance and comfort.
