FINAL PROJECT: ADAPTING EPHEMERALITIES
This was a two and a half week project motivated from taking an Interior Architecture course at the RISD. The course is called Adapting Ephemeralities taught by Kayci Gallagher. I was interested in the role of playgrounds and parks play in a community. I looked at a park that I am most familiar with around where I lived in the Bronx, NY. I researched on the history of Devoe Park and used Google Reviews for insight on the user experience. My project is the beginning of my exploration of the concept of 'adaptive reuse' in an urban environment with the purpose of enriching the experience for all types of people beyond play. I believe it is important to take context into consideration when designing and including the users (community members) as active input in the (re)design process. I intend on continuing my research and hopefully refine my ideas further (beyond the semester). I present to you Project Beyond Play: Adapting Devoe Park.

First phase of research and ideating. Work presented from week 1 and 2.
Second phase. Final board presented to the class (week 3).
Images of people were found on Google and I manipulated them to show my idea in use.

The content below shows the ideas of my adaptive redesign of the park and playground. It is in a larger format to view.
