Design Jams: Pambazuka!

If you want the world to rise, start with raising young minds.

Rationale: With regards to the Design Jams topic Pambazuka Afrika. We created an organisation called "Rise Up to Raise Them" that is focused on providing educational materials and facilities to children in low income areas. This will insure the children get the opportunity to refine their motor-skills, which can lead to brain development and increase their cognitive abilities. This will eventually give them the opportunity to break the poverty cycle. This was done through a website, interactive posters, merchandise and social media advertisements. The campaign works together from the digital side which was in control of the funding and information to the printing poster which has a QR code that leads them to the website. We believe in order to break a cycle we create one.

POV Statement: Children from low income areas (age 2-11) in Sub-Saharan Africa need access to educational materials and facilities that will refine their motor-skills, which can lead to brain development and increase their cognitive abilities to give them the opportunity to break their poverty cycle.

How might we: How might we help provide access to educational materials and facilities for children (ages 2-11) in low income areas to aid their childhood development and early cognitive abilities so that they may break a poverty cycle?
The website is the core of the campaign, it allows creatives to submit their work and we will distribute it to the children. It also provides the information about the organisation as well as donations and funding.
This is the mystery box that will be sent out every month to the children who need it. It contains a t-shirt, cap and the educational posters to help them.
This is an example of the type of products the campaign will create for children.
The treasure map promotes children physically playing and running around, the plantable poster teaches children about long term cause and effect, and the stencil poster increases children's fine motor-skills.
The QR codes lead to the website.
The merchandise will be included in the mystery box as well as to raise fund for the campaign.
The social media posts are targeted at creatives to hopefully inspire them to want to help and create for a good cause.
