Project Point & Shoot stories covering six years of photographer’s Dainius Ščiuka work is obviously more than just pretty pictures. In the series the artist examines (or rather reflects) contemporary ‘consumption’ of photography where an image spotlights a location, a meal or a mood conveying the message ‘I HAVE BEEN HERE TOO’. Genuineness, unplayed moments capturing emotional background mark the essence and uniqueness of Dainius Ščiuka photographs. Using a primitive technology -  compact camera - the author distances himself from his own trade and highlights the now-obsolete distinction between a professional photographer and amateur, as well as the disappearance of photography as an expensive and elite artistic activity. While the world is obsessed with mobile cameras, D. Ščiuka reminds us about such vanishing characteristics of photography as a viewfinder, separating the artist from a distant object, and the moment of surprise captured on the photo film, as if once again proving that the best way to participate in the moment is not to observe, but to Point & Shoot.
