For this project i searched a feeling between retro, experimental and alienated.
First i searched examples and references on the japanese-pop art design from the mid' 80's & 90's.

I also searched for references on a lot of different sources related to videogames, good as brandings, trademarks, and extinct products to find an
in-between feeling of retro and modern.
We wanted to show a different and distinctive look for our brand, so i explored
the idea of two wanderers based on Japanese-Brand mascots. Pikko & Rikko, the bag and the ducky were mean to express this term as "explorers, sweet, new and fresh".
As you can see , we used Hiragana to create various versions of our brand, one to the western audience, and one for the audience in Japan. I also made a lot of tests and experiments to see how it could fit different spaces and colors. Here are some examples.
