Angels was created by artist Laurence Payot in collaboration with Iranian film-maker Parang Khezri, funded by Arts council England and commissioned by Journeys Festival International.
Angels is a project that celebrates the courage and optimism of displaced people: from childhood lullabies remembered from another country, to the things that make us happy in our new homes. Refugee and asylum seeker participants from accross the UK have created a serie of visual and audio portraits, projected large scale arround the UK. This publication aims to give a flavour of the journey behind Angels, presenting some of the powerful drawings and collages that were created during a series of workshops.
