The brief for this project was to design a new craft beer.  i decided on the concept "a twist on history".  I used the iconic image of Jan van Riebeeck and combined it with a humoristic feel of what Jan was actualy about.  As we know Jan had more than one lover, so for the Stout beer i used the idea of "Jan stout sous".  For the visuals i combined Jan with a goat for obvious reasons.  For the promotional item regarding the Stout beer i chose mens underwear with the design printed on and the saying "Jan stout sous", and that as well for obvious reason.

There is also allegations of Jan van Riebeeck being a fraudster, thus leaving me with the idea of  "Jan flous sous".  This idea worked well with my hybrid beer in the sense that you don't really know what your getting. I used a fox for this imagery to portray the 'sneakiness'. The rest of my promotional items included 6 coasters, a beer glass for the Hybrid beer, a bottle opener and then as above mentioned the mens underwear.
