This was a map that I made for my grandfather who is moving to a new house in Vermont. He is looking for the best location to build a garden, so I decided to help using ArcMap and LiDAR data. The end result is a simple map which shows which parts of his land gets the most solar energy between mid May and early September.

Further improvements can come from doing a drone survey for a higher resolution point cloud and using a better base image for the house. The current RGB image is from October 2017, and it has shadows which wouldn't typically be present in the summer.
