THE PROBLEM
We started with a journey map. Through our personal experiences using the subway system and outside observation, we mapped the various artifacts (blue sticky notes) that would help  that would help people navigate through the underground subway tunnels of New York. We then noted how people use these artifacts (purple sticky notes) and the pain points incurred (pink sticky notes) throughout one's transit journey. All of these items were mapped along an x-axis starting with a beginning user and moving toward the expert user. Our potential solutions are noted on the yellow sticky notes.

THE SOLUTION
In the end, we decided to design an interactive map. It would tackle more than one problem and satisfied the need to build a screen-based solution for the purposes of our prototyping class.
APPROACH
We utilized video and paper prototyping to get the idea out as soon as possible. Chris and I then departed as a team to work individually to develop the user interface. Below is a snapshot of my process creating an interactive demo of the map.
