In 2017 a Japanese stock photo website called Sukima Nurse housed on nurse recruiting site Nurse-Web.jp launched a collection of free-for-use photos of a nurse and patient, taken inside and around a hospital. One part art, one part goofy, with a heavy dash of the absurd.
A stock photo website for those with very specific stock photo needs. According to IT Media, the target segment is “the 1% of maniac demands”. So I wanted to impersonate that 1% and express this creativity through printed matter also as a provocation for those companies that still use ugly stock material as their visual language.
Mistakes make the obvious fascinating, flashes of irrationality that create an unusual and imperfect beauty. Over time these mistakes seem to fall into the right place and uncover the imperfect perfection of the expected unexpected.
