The Sailors Handbook: An Illustrated Dictionary

There's a reason the saying
«All at Sea» means «A state of confusion»

«The Sailors Handbook: An Illustrated Dictionary of Seafaring Terminology» provides a fun and easy way of getting to know the most usefull seafaring terms. The goal of the book is to make sailors talk more accecible to a newcomer, saving lots of stress and frustration for everyone included. The knowledge will also reinforce a safer travel, ensuring a clearer understading of what is going on at all times, especially when things get heated and there’s help needed on deck (because there's also a reason for the saying "All Hands on Deck").

It contains 104 terms, each one with a dedicated illustration, making it even easier to comprehend! Apart of the dictionary it also includes a chapter about sea life, meaning: some jokes, some sea shanties and some drinking traditions. What more could you possibly need?

One of the features of the book that aimes for the most convienent experience possible is a cross-referencing system. Because usually it's hard to explain one seafaring term without using another, if the reader stumbles upon one and finds it confusing, there's help just alongside. Each and every word has a reference to a page with it's translation. Even if there have to be twelve of them as you can see!

Also the arrow glyph has been designed specially for this project, adding to the sailing theme by resembling the arrow that points in the direction of the wind.

May you have fair winds and following seas!
Thank you!
