NORTHERN LIGHTS film festival identity

This project is a study assignment for the 3rd year of the Academy of Arts. The challenge was to choose a real festival and offer a completely new corporate identity, different from the existing one. I`ve created a corporate identity for the "Northern Lights" Film Festival of Midnight and Baltic States. More information about the festival can be found here.
The festival highlights acute social problems: gender inequality, environmental problems, family and social relations, acceptance of oneself and one's body. The idea of the festival is that it is important to talk about all these problems, to empathize with the people who face them. The motto of the festival is "Listen and Hear".
This is how the logo of the festival was created: speechball (conversation) + camera (cinema)
In the corporate identity, photos of people screaming were used to highlight the inner pain of those who go through difficult times alone, without being able to share. The festival calls to be more attentive to each other and to other people's pain.
A still from the film "The Arctic Camels" directed by Runar Runarsan. The film is a participant in the 2020 festival.
Also, postcards were created: funny, but at the same time covering social issues that are raised at the festival.
Thanks for watching!
