Cover and some sample pages from my final Master's project. This comic is loosely based on a real story about a modern feral child, who was not brought up by animals but it was her own parents that separated her from society. As a result she could not speak human language, and upon rescuing she became of great interest to people studying human development and linguistics. The story is told through silent comics, and utilises visual language to represent struggle to learn a human language. This is a tragic story, where the main character does find peace in the end. The stories of feral children such as jungle book are romanticised but do not speak of the horrible neglect that these children have gone through. This is something that became apparent to me the more I researched the
subject, and this comic is absolutely not trying to make this type of story cute.
