RunTroll is a free app that turns running into a game. Unlike traditional running apps, RunTroll motivates you to go for a run by connecting you with friends or anyone around the world in real-time, providing a multiplayer gaming experience.
You compete in races, move up through global rankings, become the fastest Troll in all of Trollvania. Earn TrollGold and customise your avatar with apparel from the in-app TrollStore.
How it works
Players from anywhere in the world join a game server through the app and connect to each other in real-time. The players then start running, and distance is tracked by GPS, so that physical activity becomes a form of input. Relative distances are then conveyed through mobile networks to each of the devices. Then feedback about the state of the race is output through the players’ headphones in the form of audio.
