Counting down to Christmas
In Germany, we have the tradition of counting down the last four Sundays before Christmas by lighting up candles. This last month is called "Advent", and we put up four candles, usually beautifully decorated on a Christmas wreath, and light one up on each of the four Advent Sundays.

This year, I painted a picture on each Advent Sunday for my Instagram account, to count down the weeks until Christmas Eve.
1. Advent, which means it's the first of the last four Sundays before Christmas.
2. Advent
The second candle is lit.
3. Advent
The third candle is lit and maybe another candle has to be exchanged already as it's usually pretty burned down by this time.
4. Advent, or Christmas!
The fourth Advent is the last Sunday before Christmas, and all four candles are lit. If Christmas falls on a Sunday, it would be the same day as the fourth Advent!
