These are my lino prints designed for a 1st and 2nd year Invitational Exhibition at my Uni. I'm pleased to say that my work was accepted into the exhibition and I have framed the prints. The theme was ignite and chose to focus on the concept of igniting a connection between two people.
This is my Artists Statement submitted with the work:
Sometimes the connection between two people is obvious, sometime not. If you were able to see the connection as a physical object this is what it would look like to me. A stimulating rush of moving lines overlapping and linking two people together. I imagine that the connection would start small, a little uncomplicated spark, then it would grow until that spark ignites into a confusing mass of jumbled lines so that two people are permanently attached. Even with separation the strongest of connections would keep them attached, in all it’s interconnecting lines it would be too strong to break. It would just stretch and pick up where it left off. If connection were a tangible, solid object there wouldn’t be space to walk because we are constantly making new connections, new sparks waiting to be ignited into friendship, romantic relationships and more.

And here they are exhibited:
