[6 posters x 2 typefaces] PROJECT

TYPE POSTER PROJECT FOR 2 WEEKS
2 typefaces x 6 posters x process booklet
This is a project making a series of posters on the same topic, content with different ideas and styles using only two typefaces.

The fonts that I have used in this project are Didot and Gill Sans.
This first poster’s concept is a painting artistic with water stains. The center of the poster looks like a big triangle with three vertices of many layered water stains. Besides the art of painting, I used basic shapes to symbolize the trend of modern art. Hidden below the water stains are 3 equilateral triangles and 3 small circles in each corner. The upper left corner is contact information and address of the exhibition area, the upper right corner is the date that is displayed in large font size to attract attention. The bottom is an introduction about the exhibition arranged in 3 columns. Here number 3 means the past, modern and future. This is Eliasson’s exhibition of 22 works from the past to the present and of course, he will produce even more great works in the future. That’s why I created everything with number 3. I used bright yellow to symbolize youthfulness and creativity above the bright blue background. Along with the white letters are arranged nested diagonally along.
In this poster, I wanted to create a different feeling from the previous one. I used light pink for the rectangles as the background below the name of exhibition along with the dark brown background. The background is further emphasized by the jumbled letters that make it feel like the letters are flying. The upper right corner is the time of the exhibition and a brief introduction. The central part of the poster is the name of the artist who organized the exhibition, which is shown in white letters with large font sizes and wide distance between letters in order to attract attention. Below is one-column text with the introduction about the exhibition. And the left corner below is contact information and the address of the exhibition.
I used the artist’s name to create the main concept of this poster. The letters in his name are used to create lines that stretched out the poster to make it look like a puzzle game of letters. The letters are used in bright orange to emphasize and bring a modern feeling to the poster. Besides that, I used dark blue for the rest of the text, hot orange and cold blue will create an interesting color combination, I think so. At the top, the name of the exhibition is displayed in a large font size, below is the exhibition introduction content. In the middle of poster, on the right is the name of the artist displayed again and below that is the time of exhibition. In the bottom, contact information and address are displayed by 2 columns at the left and right corners.
This time, I wanted to create a poster that looks like a big letter. In the center, I used the artist’s name, put each letter into lines that fits each letter and make it look like a sketch, giving a sense of writing each letter one by one on paper. Along with that is the name of the exhibition written below. The upper part of the poster is the date, place and contact information on the left, and the logo of Leeum - the place that exhibition is organized - at the right corner. The bottom of poster is an introduction about the exhibition displayed by 4 columns.
This is a poster that I used colors to create a mix of retro colors and modern layouts. I used the artist’s name as the background under the name of the exhibition. The name of the exhibition is put into a large white frame above the artist’s name
displayed in coral color on the retro dark green background. The introduction about the exhibition is displayed by a small white font overlayed on the background text. On the top of poster, the address, date and contact information are displayed by two columns at the two corners. On the bottom of poster, the artist’s name is displayed once more clearly with a large, light font and a wide gap between the letters.
As the last poster, the concept of this poster is an old wall with faded letters. The background is made up of letters from the artist’s name in retro orange color and the watery streaks make it look like an old wall. In the center of poster, the name of the exhibition is represented by three overlapping text layers that add shadows to the text. On the right, the artist’s name is represented by a font with large spacing between letters and no spaces between lines in order to emphasize and create a different feel. At the top of poster, the place, date and contact information are displayed by two columns at the two corners. In the bottom, the introduction about the exhibition is displayed by 4 columns.
