OVERVIEW

Background: Stephen is a brand & UI/UX designer passionate about creating user-centric digital experiences and brand innovations. His design influence is centered around his interest and passion in the Renaissance era, greek mythology, philosophy, psychology, fantasy, Fable (video game series) and nature. His design inspiration derives from J.K. Rowling, Peter Molyneux, George Nowack, and Masashi Kishimoto.

Project: Stephen is seeking a unique and timeless mark that is scalable and works well in both print and digital. The mark should creatively represent the idea of a throwback to the past as well as seeking ambition and knowledge. This logomark will likely be paired with the typeface, Neue Haas Grotesk as the mark is very versatile.

Stephen Yan's Visual Identity

After I have written a brand brief about myself and took some time for self-reflection, I decided to get to sketching. My sketches mainly revolved around a quill, a book, and the Olympic torch. 

Quill - Represents communication and a throwback to the past.
Book - Represents my ambition and and love for learning deeply rooted in me.
Olympic Torch - Represents the importance of tradition and my interest in Greek mythology.
