WE MUST ACT NOW | 2019

Concept

The image aims to explore one of the major problems in modern days: The relationship between humans and our planet, specifically related to the recent issues we are facing for not caring enough.

Global warming is the main concept developed here.

In the foreground of this illustration there is an Art Installation inspired by Danish artist Eliasson. It involves melting ice blocks which people can interact, play and have contact with. It's a constant subtle reminder about the problems created by man in the last decades.

I decided to include a few flying animals’ balloons representing species at risk of extinction or seriously vulnerable, because it's well connected to global warming and general human failure.

But there is Hope, of course.

The centre focus of the image and the main message sound loud and clear: We must act now.
Now, we can. Earth is our heritage and we really have the duty to preserve and protect it; because we all belong to nature and vice versa.
The background of the image gives space to industries and various buildings; symbolising the Industrial manufacturing against nature – on the opposite river of the installation.

As a subtle Easter egg I enjoyed playing with a Pink Floyd's reminiscence. An image I find very much spot on and still provocative in this context: The Battersea Power station and the famous and emblematic Pig balloon designed by Roger Water in 1976.
