Metamorphic Spaces
A photo study of activity in Manek Chowk, AHMEDABAD
I visited various temporary stalls in the bustling market
of Manek Chowk, in February 2020.
I got to witness the natural synchronization of different spaces
and the interactions people have with them through the day.
They would come alive every morning when their vendor
set them up and went back to sleep with the rest of the city,
as they were neatly packed and tucked
back into the crevices of the landscape.
Each stall had a distinct environment created around it,
since they weren't rigidly demarcated spaces
they found ways to seamlessly fit into their surroundings.
I've used photography to capture such narratives,
in the spatial and human interactions of Manek Chowk.
